The TACNAV family of systems is the tactical navigation solution for the modern digital battlefield. Field-proven TACNAV systems use KVH's digital compass and fiber optic gyro technologies to ensure that critical navigation and situational information is available at all times - even during GPS degradation or outage - for all vehicles in the field while connecting every unit to the emerging digital battlefield.
Currently employed by the U.S. Army on the Bradley ODS, USMC AAV-7, Bradley Linebacker, USMC LAV and others. The U.S. Special Operation Command has given the KVH TACNAV system the M100 GMENS (Ground Mobility Enhanced Navigation System) type classification and is fielding it throughout the SOCOM vehicle fleet. TACNAV navigation systems are currently in use on U.S. and allied vehicles participating in ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. TACNAV systems have been sold for use aboard U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Navy vehicles as well as to many allied customers, including Canada, Sweden, Great Britain, France, Egypt, Germany, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Switzerland, and Italy. The technologies used in TACNAV systems have been a key component in the company's successful IPO in 1996 and secondary equity offering in 2004.
